If ad banners get blocked/removed..

I want to be able to display a linked image or worst case, a text ad under them.

How can this be done?

Some sites will just embed the message as part of their background image, behind where the ad would normally sit, so when the ad is blocked, the full background is revealed showing "Hey disable AdBlock for us pls " etc. It's there all along, but when the ads aren't disabled they're covering it up.
