Is anyone here using Adthrive?

Browsing the brokerages and there are listings using this network that are clearing RPMs of $25+ in broad niches like food and recipes and other non premium categories.

This seems insanely high for a site with scale and volume.

Prove me wrong and make me weep when I look at my RPMs.

I don't use them, but that seems way high.

Yeah it blew my mind tbh. No idea why they are so blessed with an RPM more than double mine.

Audience profile probably accounts for a good chunk of the difference but not to this degree.

My rep at another ad network is projecting I can hit $17 RPM but that was before all this shit with Covid.

Currently cruising around $10-$11 RPM. Hoping to get to $17 soon...

I have a site (not counting currently with the virus, which has me around $11) that usually rides around $20 - $22 during most of the year (start of each quarter can dip) and can get as high as $37 during holidays. This isn't finance or anything like that. It's a very normal, common niche. Does about around a half a million sessions a month. The only time I see RPMs dip due to traffic is during a viral push when the buyer side demand hasn't had a chance to adjust.

Edit: I have a newer site that rides around $30 - $35 all year and gets to $75 - $80 in Q4.

With Adthrive and are those Session RPMs or PV RPMs?

Great work by the way, solid numbers.

It's not AdThrive (it's Mediavine), and it's Session RPMs. Thanks for the kind words.

From the talk in this thread I am keen to try Mediavine. Maybe once my newest site hits the threshold which should be within the month.

They randomly rejected my major site for months then suddenly approved.

I'm not sure its traffic quantity so much as quality that they look for.

Saying that, now we are in the apocalypse I sense they are easing their benchmarks for acceptance.

Could be BS, just my feeling.

I can't speak to Mediavine, but another ad network just let me add a website without even having to show them my analytics. The site gets about 90% of the traffic requirement so I figured it was worth a shot.

Then I tried for a second site that gets about 50% of the required traffic, and finally a third site that only gets about 20%. All approved without any questions.

So, seems like it's definitely a good time to get into networks that you one wouldn't normally qualify for.

Awesome man, which network?

for me, playing with Adsense, is about getting ONLY 1K PV/day, as you can see, before the traffic is about getting 1K/days, in your adsense dashboard, the RPM insanely high, and that RPM what i need, so i just want to get that RPM by getting only 1k pv/days. This is micro niche, i have 4 micro niche which is using 2 different adsense account. $5K is easy this way, believe in me.

Alright - so we've had our first few days with AdThrive and I'm very impressed.

Here are the (approximated) numbers:

Comparing the first half of September (Mediavine) to the second half (AdThrive). Niche is broad and related to home/garden.

This is with reducing the amount of ads we are showing by 1-2 per page. It's nice to know I could pump these numbers up a little higher if needed, but I prefer having a more user-friendly page.

I'll update here if there's any significant changes as we move forward with AdThrive.
Would love to see any numbers from different niches for comparison.

-----------------

One thing to note: I'm especially glad to be with AdThrive because they have a lower traffic requirement for secondary sites. Mediavine now need 50k traffic for not only your main site, but any secondary sites too. AdThrive need 100k for your main, but only 30k for secondary sites. IMO this has massive implications for anyone building a portfolio. At 30k traffic you could potentially have $1,000/month with AdThrive, versus being stuck at ~$360/month with Ezoic (RPM of $12 was a good day with them for us).

This is great info, thanks so much. Did Adhrive continue to outperform Mediavine?

I'm thinking of making the switch too.

30k traffic, you mean page view or just traffic?

That's a nice touch! I heard a rumor that Mediavine may open things up for smaller sites in the near future, too. Like a "Mediavine Jr." of sorts is how I understood it.

Another nice touch to AdThrive is that it's 100k pageviews instead of sessions which helps grind that out a little sooner, especially for the "Next Page Wizards" out there who know how to really get the most out of each visitor.

Are you still using AdThrive, @MinstrelJunkie? Curious how your holiday season went since September.

@Potatoe - yeah, still with them and absolutely loving it! I'm an AdThrive fanboy now.

Holiday season saw our RPM shoot over $32 during November/December. Now dropped down to an average of $22 (not sure where we would've been with Mediavine).

Not only that, their technical support is incredible. They are the first people I call if I have a technical issue I can't handle. My income is their income, so their staff are always on hand.

It's easy to customize the ads you're showing (Mediavine take full control) and AdThrive have a very active facebook group with a good amount of healthy discussions.

Can't recommend them enough.

Pageviews I believe
