Best Backlink Checker... ?

Hey Buds,

I'm trying to figure out 'Where my competition' is advertising?
I know they are on the web, but not sure what sites....
Last time i check, ahrefs.com was the best for finding competitive sites...

• Anyone else know of good 'Backlink' checker?
• Is there any other way of checking competition ads?

NOTE: One way to check competitors is to simple search on their website name; ex. Google http://www.buildersociety.com ----and see where they are showing up.

Yup.

Ahrefs is stunningly far ahead right now.
Not much to say.

I'd say SEMRush does a decent enough job too. Ahrefs numbers are probably higher because they seem to pick up a lot more absolute spam backlinks

Now...what exactly are they picking up that's different from what i'm getting...using Google?
If i type http://www.buildersociety.com...i get 161,000 backlinks (in google) to different Sites.
What exactly does Ahrefs do that's different?
