Buying Keywords: Thoughts?

This question is going to seem like a no brainer to veterans, but I know people do it. I understand that learning to find profitable keywords is a far more invaluable skill especially for standing on your own two feet. Obviously people are making money from keywords they have bought through services. In terms of understanding profitable niches and keywords and in getting that mental ball rolling is it ever really worth it?

In my opinion, do it if you've never done any digital marketing before. It will be a great way to make mistakes and to fail on something not that important. Plus they really are low comp keyword with buy intent so you could definitely make some money from it.

Long term though, buying a single keyword is only going to take you so far.

Speaking from past experience my first site roughly 7 or 8 years ago was a bought keyword. I had no idea how to do kw research so I bought an amazon keyword. It was a great learning experience and I was actually able to make some money from it.
