Change to Google search results affecting affiliates?

Looks like Google is killing organic results for product keywords. Hearing a lot about keyword funnel terms and the need to rank for higher funnel terms. What does everyone think?

Looks like another way for them to land themselves another anti-trust lawsuit to lose.

I can't say it surprises me. It's another way to de-incentivize spammers and a way to strike a blow at Amazon.

Google also is teaming up with Walmart to try to rival Amazon's shopping experience. It's a shame that good sites and good affiliates are going to be civilian casualties in this four-pronged war.

Fred already took care of some of this but we'll end up seeing SEO's being forced to work an entire funnel instead of targeting the bottom of it through the search engines.

I was talking about this on Reddit a few days back, I think its being blown out of proportion, especially if it sticks to "product" search terms and not "best product" or "product reviews". I would imagine people are looking for different types of information with all three search types.
