Yes, do you have any SEO secret that you currently use on your own projects clients, etc that you think is known only to you, at least publicly.

If yes how good is it? How long have you been using it and how good does it work?

I am not asking you to divulge your secret, just if you have one and if you are able to consistently use it to your advantage.

It could be a small hack, a social engineering hack to acquire links, an onoage hack which is quite simple yet nobody else seem to be doing it.. eg: "Broken Links" seo was at one time only known to a few SEOs.
 
New tricks come around but not like you'd think... not like back in the day.

What I find is that there's new angles/evolutions on old proven tactics and new amalgamations of several tactics combined. These work out well, whether or not they're secret or not.

Another thing to consider is all the stuff people used to exploit that Google smashed... once everyone moves on, it's worth testing again because it's likely that Google stopped de-emphasizing it in the algorithm and it works again. This goes for on-page and off-page.
 
I have one little clever trickerooni that I think I've only shared with @Ryuzaki , it's nothing ground breaking but I haven't really seen anyone else talk about it. Just a particular way to go about getting 10-20 incredibly natural links on real websites that don't typically sell links, for $15-$20 each. It's a really nice way to start off your backlink profile.

No need to be rude bro. We have known each other for over a decade. This was just a fun post and I didn't ask for tips, only if one has anything up their sleeves that they use as a secret sauce.

That’s still the best outing. Even with age.
I pay for it still out of respect. It’s a better value than college ever was for me.

Other premium outing that’s probably worth the money.

STM (slow but not dead and old stuff still works)
What ever the gaps.com guy is currently slInging tends to be super meta if you get to him before he shops it around enough.

If you want free insight that offers an edge you’re gonna have to learn Carters dialect or pm grindstone or some shit.

Mainstream advice that’s presented well saturates so fast these days it’s almost never worth bothering.

You want a line item low effort hack?
Buy a really good exact match or partial match domain.

A Good partial match is money keyword plus something that raises your click through in feeds. This can be cuz it’s shocking, cool, iconic or what ever it doesn’t matter. Point is to make your entity id part keyword and recognizably unique so you get immunity from googles weird indexing penalty thicket stuff.

My duder, you know I'm saying this with peace and love... You've been working on "ranking for a few really hard keywords" since the beginning of 2019 and you've done literally everything except publishing content and getting links to it.

I don't know what outings or tricks exist that are going to replace the fundamental thing that everybody else on the internet does to rank sites. I don't know what band of merry misfits is going to change this reality.

Competition got a little dirty so I’ve been keeping more things to myself. Still grinding away, still dropping more sites in the niche. Free tools get so many more links than content I can’t really be bothered with blogging. What a loser of a strategy.

I’lle do a little more traditional content when I redirect all my free shit army plays and it will all work out fine.
Bet you a 10,000 word personally written article I hit low first page before the end of the year.

I’m gonna throw the whole portfolio in the bst for auction after I hit Number 1 and use all the money to open a gaming cafe.
This niche has rather nice cashflow and the posters around here seem to believe in significantly higher multipliers than I do. Gimme one of those 50x monthly cash flow valuations or some shit.

Those merry miss fits have some pretty neat tricks and very impressive bankrolls. I wouldn’t be so negative just cuz they want a tax for sharing. Not all of us are as nice as carter and zuki with the free info.

Except for grind. You should pm him every day on as many platforms as you can if you want the latest seo tips.

Hasn't seemed worthwhile after the ehow/ answers.com crack down updates.
Its been more than 5 years since I've had a non forum domain with more than 100k words on it.

Something I'd like to note that always needs repeating is that Google is historically a page based algorithm.

Skimping on the content marketing and just ranking sites with pure title tags and keyword entangled domains has been my historical recipe. I will readily admit its not working that well for organic for me that last few years compared to the previous few.
I'm still very optimistic about the strategy though because I've seen some pretty next level shit from google bots with regards to understanding and classifying non textual content. I think their ML classifier based tech will eventually work its way into reserved slots for tools for tool keywords if its not already happening.
(I don't want to bark at shadows but I think its already being done on a limited scale using proxy methods that are less machine learning related)

Google does seem to be moving towards being a a bit of a writing competition lately.
Been seeing a lot of reports in the builder society laboratory and /r/juststart of people writing their way to the top with no link building and totally garbage promotional strategies + crap tier branding that doesn't generate any substantial inbound recognition.
I'm sure there is something to be said for strategies related to mass content I just haven't chosen to pursue them. @Philip J. Fry runs some sites that do mass long tail content with incredibly strong results.

I'm a very lazy guy competing against a bunch of very competitive people like @CCarter and some extremely well funded 10,000xers with 11 gorillian content marketing people.

We don't have the overhead tolerance or writing technical chops to compete head to head so I'd rather buy a bunch of domain names and spread the content over home pages with most of the content being code not text walls. The one item I'm actually competitive on on is low cost development. I'd rather spend my resources on more code, server infrastructure and being price competitive. Also, have found that it is far easier to link build to root domains than any other page so I tend to just develop home pages and leave everything else as bare minimum plumbing. Its easier to make your branding / domain name carry water for you if you concentrate everything on the home page.

I think googles smart enough to figure out that nobody likes sky scraper montage rewrites, redundant how to farticles and pointless top 10 round ups eventually. All those kinds of things do in my mind is waste peoples time and more importantly jack up the overhead and pricing of your offerings. Given that I have 1k to spend, wouldn't you rather have another free efficient specialized tool over yet another article about a topic with 1000 articles already written about it?

My only plan for getting to number 1 is to use the feedback from our specialized tools to eventually make something or combine our existing stuff in some way that leap frogs whats on the market so hard everybody in the industry adopts it or starts getting pwned by our users.

If most of the users looking up keyword tool are looking for my site, I have a lot of faith google will eventually let it float to the top. Line item technical be damned.

Be consistently first to acknowledge and link to new domains and pages in your niche that are acquiring natural links at a measurable rate.

Blast out round up of lists industry brand names with your own sites towards the top.
