I do think Shopify is great as it works well with little set up. You pay a premium for that though. The negative is that you cannot host a blog on the same domain.
It is technically possible to use nginx get your Wordpress blog onto your Shopify site (
Summary: if you're doing any sort of content marketing, there's a strong argument for a self hosted solution - many people use Wordpress + WooCommerce.
