I'm sure you're aware of Amazon's Prime day.

You buy the Prime membership and you get access to "exclusive deals".

Noticed this on eBay's homepage today: http://www.ebay.com/

Meanwhile, it's the 7th of July and Sears still has 4th of July banners on their website...

Looks like Walmart is making an attempt.

I used to sell on Ebay. Hands down the absolute worst customer service I have ever experienced in my life. So absymal it boggled my mind. After that experience I said sayonara.

Amazon on the other hand, is usually a pleasure to work with. As an associate anyway. Haven't tried selling on there. But as a consumer and an affiliate...<3

Interesting you mentioned that.

I've had people buy items over $5,000 from me then bail on payment and tell me to go fuck off. (While oweing eBay their fees, like $500)

So I wait 10 days for eBay to resolve it, complain, and their account never gets banned. (Even on new and age accounts, nothing happens)

Around 6 months ago eBay removed the ability to leave someone negative feedback. They literally won't let you leave negative feedback anymore.

It's not seller friendly anymore.

Walmart is also going after Prime with their ShippingPass. Free unlimited 2 day shipping. Their marketplace is being opened up to new vendors too.

That smiley face "arrow"... shots fired from A to Z.

Does anyone know what this kind of marketing does to a company's reputation or "alignment" in the eyes of the public? For me, I immediately see this kind of thing as playing a bit dirty and I think less of a company who does it.

What? it's just a smile... lol
I don't think too many would read into that as a negative. I'm sure Amazon sees it as an indirect shot though. I think it's pretty harmless and kind of funny, I don't see it harming their reputation.
