TLDR; Google is implementing buying directly from the results page.

Will be interesting to see if this is successfully implemented and to what extent. Sounds like they are going to be straight up listing products when people search for "best digital camera 2015".

Probably not news to some of you, but it's a discussion point.

Here's a gif of it. You even check out right there "in the SERPs"....

I could see that working for some vanity stuff like things you'd order from Amazon... "I need a box of Q-tips". Even clothing as shown above. But what happens if you want to have a cart and bundle items into one order from one store. I really don't see it converting very well for anyone. It'll be Google+ Authorship. Here today, gone tomorrow.
