So I logged into one of my client's wp sites today to see a message from the Wordfence plugin. Basically they have developed something called Gravityscan which analyses your site to detect for malware and other security issues. It's free to use which makes it a no-brainer. I'm not mega clued-up on the details of hacking so I'll leave it to the pro's to figure out just how helpful this could be, especially for people who don't use paid services like Sucuri.

I've been a fan of Wordfence for years and this could be another valuable addition to website protection. I've been hacked in the past and now use Wordfence on every wp site.
