How Do You Expedite and Increase Bing Indexation Rate?

Hey. I've noticed that Bing only indexes a fraction of the backlinks that we have and it also only indexed a fraction of the site. BingBot also is slow to crawl the web and index the web too. Does anyone have any tricks on increasing Bing's indexation rate? I've tried the good old sending span links to the tier 2 links and pinging the spam links to lure spiders but it doesn't really do anything for Bing.

The problem with Bing is they don't try to index anything and everything like Google does. They want some form of validation that the page is worth indexing, which is usually backlinks. Tier 2 links might work, but then you have to get Tier 2 crawled with a Tier 3 blast, and then it's turtles all the way down to Tier 999. Crawling isn't too bad, but convincing them to index is a different story.

How did you come up with the idea that BingBot indexes stuff based upon backlinks? From your own statement, it seems that BingBog has a higher threshold of on-page requirements in order to index a page than GoogleBot (ie spintext, bad grammar, and a non-unique image doesn't cut it with Bing).

Just from reading the Bing Webmaster blog, it shows that they use things such as spelling and grammar, media, and supplemental content in their algorithm. IMO, this might be used for determining if a page should be indexed or not. This would be much better than mere unique words on a page as spintext always has bad grammar.

Therefore, a good way to increase Bing rankings is to get press coverage, for articles written by journalists will always have good spelling and grammar. To test this, we can look at currently ranking sites in Bing as well as which backlinks it reports in Bing WMT and the indexation rate of news sites.
