Anyone ever had an allergic reaction in the Caribbean that caused their eyes to look like they have conjunctivitis in mornings and swell up from irritation?

I've read that sometimes it can be chemicals sprayed on things
Locals tell me it could be the 'salt water' in the air, i'm not used to it
I thought it might be the extreme dust in the air

But this latest case, I noticed it came after I ate: 3 things.... Pineapple, Mango, and Chips, and it was the worst ever.

I've had a little irritation before but never like what happened 2 days ago. I think Andre INT is from the Caribbean, so I was hoping someone might have experience.

My eyes look like

Just my eyes are a lot more redder from the irritation.

I dont take meds so I'm looking for a natural solution Preferably understanding the cause.

Did you go swimming?

Lots of bacteria in the water. Particularly in pools that haven't been treated properly.

Just go see a doctor dude. All kinds of nasty parasites can affect the eyes

No, not at all.

A 3% solution of boric acid (in water) helps a great deal in reducing swollen eyes. Works best if left in the fridge and applied over the eyes using one of those round-cotton-girl-thingies.

I'm trying to find it in English but I can't. Wikipedia has only a French page https://fr.wikipedia.org/wiki/Eau_boriquée

Some pediatricians advise it to combat tearing of the eye in infants in association with eye ointments, but opinions are divided. It is still used in dilute solution in the "eye wash" of chemical laboratories.

The "acid" part sounds worse than it is. Wikipedia in Portuguese says it's antisseptic, antifungal, and antibacterial. See if you can find it locally or have the solution done for you at a pharmacy.

I dunno but starting yesterday and getting worse today, one of my eyelids is swollen all to hell and sore. I'm either growing a next level stye or have a blocked tear duct or something.

Don’t eat dirty butthole.

Get to an eye specialist stat. Eye shit can get worse really fast.

Watch what you're eating. It seems like an allergic reaction to food. My sister in law had the same reaction when she ate seafood before knowing she was allergic to it.
Take care, go to the doctor and enjoy. In the meantime we're grinding and grinding...

I have to agree with the rest of these guys. You need to get your friend to the butt doctor ASAP.

My eye is better now and this always happens when im in the Caribbean. It seems to be something that triggers a dry/itchiness but never had it been so bad as the other day.... which caused me to be so irritated I cut my eye lashes off in attempt to quail the itch

I thought it might be something simple with allergies, that's common, since i saw no lumps and had no real pain.. just irritation.

oof............ :-x i did actually touch a buttock the other week.... but i know it was not that. I had no reactions to that beyond entertainment.

.

Sun cream perhaps? I know someone who only has an allergy to Banana Boat sun cream but is fine with other brands.

My man, why on Earth are you asking for medical advice on an SEO forum? Go to a doctor.

I think he just wanted to make sure we all knew his eyes actually do exist.

@EyesExist - where in the Caribbean were/are you? I've go to the Caribbean a few times a year and have been to many islands there. All have their own exotic breeds of fuckery.

Dom Rep for now. A small tourist community. I been thinking of Aruba or Bon Airre lately .

Yeah, not my favorite. Been there twice and got sick the second time. Pretty much ruined the trip.

Check out Turks and Caicos. Been there a few times and absolutely love it. Clean, good infrastructure, super safe, lots of great food. The water and beaches are some of the nicest you'll ever find and there are still a ton of beaches you can go to and not see a single person all day. It's a bit more pricey (VAT tax), but so is Aruba, so you won't see much difference there.

Otherwise, Negril in Jamaica is my second home. Go there at least 3-4 times per year. If you like to smoke a lot of weed, good beaches, chill spots, good people, and fairly inexpensive, that's a great spot as well.

PM me if you need suggestions on places to stay and hope you're eye gets better.

It's the Caribbean so it could be anything with it being a tropical environment and all.

Jstover77 gave you good recommendation and I would also like to recommend Strawberry Hill and anywhere in the Blue Mountains of Jamaica. My ancestor owned Strawberry Hill when it was a plantation back in the early 1800s.

I keep wiping my face.. I see these lttle blck particles. looks like a 'hair' but it's not... and when i look around on the floor, they are there too.

I think this is what blows in the air from all the stuff they burn at night and maybe this is what irritated my eye

Not dangerous. Just an irritant

Eyes are better now. I stopped touching with my hands and only wiped with a facial cleaning pad & saline solution.

Also drank my super tea.... Burdock/Sassafrass/hibiscus/etc (cleans the body of toxins & unneeded mucus (some say mucus is what all viruses/disease need to exist))

Everyone i showed pics of my eyes were just shocked. But all's well that ends well.

Mucus is actually there to protect from and get rid of viruses, bacteria and dirt.

Or to say it with wikipedia
Mucus serves to protect epithelial cells in the linings of the respiratory, digestive, and urogenital systems, and structures in the visual, and auditory systems from pathogenic fungi, bacteria[2] and viruses.

Who knows. People say that if your body's PH balance is right, mucus can't build up. Once mucus builds up you're setting up for a disease (dis-ease).

I watched my grandmother die, they were draining mucus from her lungs. It's def not protective once it's in our organs........

Even if it's in the throat, your body naturally tries to rid itself of it.. from the nose or throat... and the color of it changes with severity of infection b/c the infection is there.

Logical thoughts. Dunno. I met a couple , one a VA and the other a doctor , who were promoting alkaline products down in Myrtle Beach, SC educate me a bit. She showed me cells of the body when the body's balanced, etc..... WAY DIFFERENT.... all smooth and healthy. And the YOUTHFULNESS of this couple was amazing.. An American guy, in his 70s, with fucking firm ass hand grip, pecs, and smooth skin... just had to see it. Looked like he had the fountain of youth and i'm just being honest with what I noticed.

They were promoting the importance of alkaline balance in the body and the PH changing in all of our daily foods & even water. It's morphing us.

Most of us, if you go to a doctor and have your cells analyzed right now, shit will look like it's on a hard drug, getting through life on a 'wing and a prayer.' All spiky and weird. Not like what you see in school books growing up.

Blah.. going in too deep but, just be careful with the idea of mucus is healthy i'd say.

What I am saying is that mucus (lining of your nose, etc..) has a purpose and is normal.

And Yes, excess mucus is shit, but that is not what I am talking about.
