How do you keep track of useful things you find on various sources that are not needed now, but could be extremely useful in a future situation.
I have a notepad and it's filling up and I find great software tools over time, but start to forget they exist. I make it a point to try and use them to help remember. I'd like to hear your ideas too so I have a better reference for things I find..or index.

Thank you!

I know a lot of people that like Evernote for this kind of note taking. I use a combination of text files, spreadsheets, and Trello. There's no perfect piece of software for this. In college I preferred a piece of paper folded up in my pocket. You just have to find a system that works for you.

It also helps to revisit and clean up old files, getting rid of information you apparently aren't going to use. If it was important enough, it would have seen use in the past year or two. Stuff like that gets deleted for me.
