Whatever happened to this software?

When I was first starting out in the industry, I began with SEO and used this as my #1 tool. Now, I never hear anyone talk about it. Is it just not relevant anymore?

I mostly liked how it displayed the top results as it made it easy to tell how easy it was to rank for a phrase. Is that component still useful in the free version?

I used it back in the day and still do. I only ever used one module, the SEO Competition one.

It was the easiest and fastest way to check the on-page and off-page of the Top 10 for a keyword.

I'll still peek at it to get a quick overview but it's not nearly as relevant now that Google is really starting to use synonyms a lot more. The on-page optimization parts don't give you as much insight as it once did, but for terms with lesser backlinks, its still a good sign that you can get more tightly optimized for the precise term instead of all the LSI stuff (while still using the LSI terms in the content!).

Don't know about the free version. I paid for it a long time ago. I also like that it's built on Adobe Air and useable on a Mac.

You know I'm gonna take down that term! I love Market Samurai and always will just for this screen.

Ryuzaki beat me up to it. Just wanted to tell the same, that i'm using the SEO competition screen a lot. But that's all.

In the same boat. I still use it only for onpage comp analysis.

In my researching of competitiors I came across a SAAS called KeySearch.co, which took the marketing samurai concept and added some other ideas together: http://www.keysearch.co/

Might be worth taking a look at:

Obviously the Woo has some ideas in mind if we are looking into them...

Nice find. It looks they've completely ripped off the look of Samurai's Competitive Analysis tool down the exact hex color.
