We all know there's several dozen must-read books out there on psychology and how it relates to Marketing, Advertising, PR etc etc!

This thread isn't about those.

You know sometimes when it's a Sunday and you decide it'd be nice to reward yourself and relax, so you take a bath instead of a shower, well what's better than staying committed to the cause, firing up a documentary to watch while relaxing that you normally don't have time to, and will better your understanding of the industry we're all in? Enough said really.

Disclaimer: These documentaries are extremely interesting, especially the 2nd, so be warned and don't make the same mistake I did and continue to watch the documentary if your girlfriend joins you in the bath... lol

Documentary Goodness:

1. Starsuckers - Starsuckers is a 2009 British documentary film aiming to expose the "shams and deceit involved in creating a pernicious celebrity culture".

2. The Century Of The Self - The Century of the Self is a British television documentary series by Adam Curtis, released in 2002. It focuses on how the work ofSigmund Freud, Anna Freud, and Edward Bernays influenced the way corporations and governments have analyzed, dealt with, and controlled people

Of course there's plenty more, share your own, but these are the two I think are real eye-openers even for people like us.

I'd like to add Kumare.

It's a movie about a guy from the US creating a fake persona of an indian guru to start his own following and to brainwash people. If you like conmen and occultism you should definitely check it out.

Well, this is not a regular documentary but, it could fit well into this thread I hope.
The guy is narrating war movies and despite his lack of experience in that matter (narration) he manages to get to the point (in my opinion at least).

It's all related to Darwinism.

Simple vegetable like broccoli, it fights all the time against animals. That's why broccoli contains some poisonous nutrients that were classified as anti cancer compounds (cancer is animal tissue right?).

In general, vegetables don't want to be eaten. They say "leave us alone and fuck off... and if not we have some poisonous stuff ready for you...". That's why if not cooked they taste like crap (well, most of the time at least...).Keep in mind I'm talking about modern vegetables. Their wild ancestors (those were MUCH worse!). Also, social conditioning have a lot to do with taste perception (long story...).
Vegetables are specializing and evolving to keep their genes afloat by reinventing new poisonous chemical compounds, it could be against other plants or animals, it really doesn't matter.

Fruits on the other hand specializing in using animals as a way to spread their gens. To fruits we are nothing else than just carriers. That's why fruits have much better taste and smell. Fruits want to be eaten, they need to be eaten by animal first so they can be excreted in some other distant place. That's the basic way they can spread and survive (in original natural ecosystem).

Animals on the other hand, fight other animal species by killing their newborns and just by straight away haunting for food, and so it goes... it never ends.

We humans (still animals) are the coolest ones because we know how to eat vegetables and fruits and we know how to eat other animals to survive and don't get too much ill. And because we don't like to get our hands dirty anymore, why we have invented the MONEY (for some of us blood is just too scary...). [don't take it too seriously...]

And there is the major group of all... KINGDOM... of bacteria and fungus.
Those guys are really good at survival. If you picture that you have more bacteria in and on your body than you have your own body cells then you know they are the best fuckers out there.

So, here is the first vid...

here is the vido I have should post

Salesman : Door-to-door salesmen one of the oldest documentaries that shows relations and human psychology plays a golden rule to sell anything you like also can be a crucial sword that cuts the salesman life !

Kumare was a fun watch. People are so desparate to find something external to depend upon instead of looking inward.

The Century of the Self was also very interesting. Freud busted the subconscious and the ability to manipulate it wide open. The nazi's hopped right on, and then globally all of our media companies mastered it. Very interesting

Here's another must watch, released this year.
Part 2 isn't out yet.

Awesome documentary. And yes it does fit in, that's the ultimate sales pitch
