New Google Algorithm Update?

Anyone else seeing significant movement? Any ideas what it is or what it's affecting yet? I'm seeing significant movement in a particular industry across ALL major competitors, including a number of top 1K or 5K Alexa rank sites, some of which are extremely aged and authoritative.

My serps look fine right now. Just the normal daily bounces.

Could it be those RankBrain fluctuations people have been talking about?

I think you might be right. That would make sense for this industry, and considering the fairly dry nature of content, meta tags, and overall optimization strategies.

Yup.

What sucks is that it's still so early in the game for RankBrain that no one really knows how to account for it yet. My guess is that people are going to have to do a whole lot more semantic keyword research going forward.

Edit: Since that night, across the board terms have been having huge volatility (15-20%) Nothing has calmed down as of yet. (Started rumbling around the 12th but has picked up again)
