Pinterest Page or Page On Main Site?

On my new site, I'm trying to rank for a term that involves pics, however they are not pics of products. They just relate to the site.

I've seen some people rank Pinterest pages for KWD terms. So I was wondering if it's best to create my own Pinterest page to rank for this term and then direct them back to the site, or should I simply create the pic page on the website and rank that way?

I guess what I'm also asking is, "When do you create a Pinterest page to try and rank for a term, and when is it not a good idea?"

Is your site powerful enough to rank for the term? Pinterest is. If you can rank your own site, I'd do that for the direct visitors. You'll only get a percentage of them to click through from Pinterest. But you might get a lot of repins and followers out of it you can remarket to over time.

This is a trick question, though. The 3rd and correct answer is both.
