Schema for Product Feature Pages

Hey guys,

I'm toying around with schema and couldn't Google myself out of the bag. So...

1.) Would you recommend using Schema to markup Features of Products e.g. Specs of Kitchen Appliances (Assuming it is on a separate page)?

2.) If so, which type of data structures would you use?

Hi @Faust

While it's not always possible to see direct SEO benefits by using markup (some say they do, other's say they don't), I recommend doing them as they are a big brand signal. Whenever I analyse different websites/competitors, it's an absolute rarity to see if they're using kind of markup so it's a good way to stand out amongst others. Personally I like to recommend doing them as long as it won't take up to much of your time.

To answer your question specifically regarding doing it for the features of products, it wouldn't hurt and as long as its easy enough for you to do it, go for it. If it takes you a bloody long time to implement, forget about it.

I'd look specifically at the following 2 resources:
https://schema.org/Product
https://schema.org/ProductModel

Up to you if you want to use JSON or Microdata, whatever is easiest.

Hi @Postmortis

Thanks for the response.

I was look at the https://schema.org/Product and https://schema.org/ProductModel as well as @CCarter write-up , but it doesn't seem to fit the use case I was looking for.

I was trying to markup something like "Health Benefits (Soft Feature) of Ginger (Or some product)". I understand the Product would be Ginger, but I haven't figured out how to markup the health benefits or other soft features. Would it be more akin to https://schema.org/Article or something else?
