Been working online for a few years now and always looking to learn more. Can't wait to look into this site more and see what it has to offer. Mostly here to learn more but also looking for great linking opportunities/packages.

Ouch. That sucks.

I slipped a disc in my lower back years ago due to using bad form on squats - such a stupid thing for me to do.

Hopefully you're healing up as best you can and the pain is subsiding.

Should have gotten the operation right away instead of trying to do physio to no effect. Plan on getting the operation in March.

When you're moving, let me know and I will give you the name and contact of a guy running a well established online marketing firm there for must be close to 10 years. I'm sure he can help you out getting to know the place and people. I've never lived there, but it is pretty much the digital nomad central, so should be easy to get settled.

Sounds like that is good news. Just a couple more months until the operation. Let me know how it goes.

Awesome, I appreciate that. Thank you. Will definitely get in touch with you about the contact when I'm ready to move out there.

So, if you were a previous gay webmaster, you might recognize my handle. When WF went down, I decided to stop all posting and just focus on my hustle.

I decided to come back and enjoy some good old fashioned gay webmaster talk.

I'm planning on hitting up ASW, so was wondering if any of the familiar handles will be there.

Hello All,

I'm Ross, and I have tried my hand at making money online before without much success. However, I realize being initially unsuccessful is a prerequisite for success. My biggest problem before was the lack of original content or the ability to consistently create it when I did so. So what has changed you may ask. A great deal.

Life experience and life changes outside of the internet have manifested into a calling that I am passionate about.I have a cause, that being to help people with mental health issues and drug addiction overcome them. I have a unique spin on both though as I take a spiritual (not religious view on both mental health and addiction). I am also a musician, an artist, writer, podcaster and vlogger about my topics. Is my content for everyone? No that is kind of the point, my life has been weirder than most people could assume but the people it will resonate with will find it to be a breath of fresh air, at least had I heard something like my efforts I would have been. I have been really consistent with creating content, now it is just coming time to monetize it.

So these are the ways I am thinking of monetizing my content

These are the ways I am monetizing my content
1) Adds on Youtube Videos
2) Revenue sharing for my blog articles on another site (I am allowed to copy articles I wrote for my own domain name as long as I source my personal site on the revenue sharing site)

These are the ways I am looking to branch out
1) Tarot Card Reading Services
2) Paid Guest Posting
3) Freelancing in the same general area I am doing now but in not a specific way
4) Selling handmade jewelry, Candles, bath stuff, tie dies, etc.
5) Selling music
6) Selling E-Books

I was going to use fiverr and various other sites to approach these things incrementally and thought it best to get some insight before moving forward. I don't think fiverr is the best platform for monetization due to the choking amount of poor quality that is churned out of there but I tend to be an idealist and I could conceive it being good in the sense that because of the low-quality stuff, that would make me have more of an opportunity to be successful.

Thanks for reading my post and offering some insights. I appreciate your efforts and wish you all the best.
Love and light, Ross

mental health and addiction

The way you monetize for serious amounts of cash in this niche is by filling beds in treatment centres...

Don't sell yourself short with paid guest posts etc - figure out some proper advertising deals. Why give someone the opportunity to get tens of thousands of dollars for placing a patient in exchange for a $200 guest post on your site?

I guess I never really thought of that. I would have to find the places that had practices that I support because personally, both the mental health field as an entity and recovery clinics can be somewhat dubious in the approach they offer, so ethically it becomes a matter of understanding the practice. However, philosophically that view is through my lens and I can't determine what others need's are. It is a very valid point that would require more research on my part. I suppose if my ultimate goal is to help people overcome their problems and become self-advocates they can sort the wheat from the chaff. Doing so wouldn't limit my ability to pursue my writing and other outlets as a counter balance to both programs.

Can you suggest any resources for getting started with finding and evaluating programs like you mention?

Thanks for taking the time to respond and I appreciate the insight and food for thought.

As a simpler option you can try display ads like adsense or media.net, cost per click in health niche tends to be very high.

I work in addiction niches.

If you go filling beds route, you better make sure you set things up so people don't steal from you and you better learn what patient brokering is too.

Thanks for the input. After much deliberation, I have decided that filling beds will not work for me ethically. Not looking down on others who pursue that and I appreciate the insight. My personal experience has made me leery of those systems as a whole and although people will go to them regardless I can't in good conscious lead people into systems I have issues with for profit.

Does anyone have experience in marketing speeches, things created, spirituality based things, etc? I don't mind working and profiting off of my labor and am ok with working harder to achieve less income that doesn't have the hidden expense of soiling my own understanding of those entities.

I'm not judging anyone who makes money this way as philosophical outlooks very and I'm not naive enough to assume my outlook is correct.

Hi, Happy and successful NY to all hard-working marketers here!

Been part-time fiddling around with niche sites since 2014, managed to establish one good site that will hopefully grow enough to quit my day job. I am from eastern Europe, planning to move to warmer lands soon.
Is there anyone here who have lived on Canary islands, what are your experiences?

Name is Brad. I found this place by browsing Wicked Fire and old forum I use to frequent. Rage9 was my handle and I notice a few Wicked Fire guys here. The Hobbit, CCarter, and others.

I'm a web developer by trade and do freelance work. Planning to start doing some of my own products this year and looking to learn more about modern internet marking and network with some of you guys.

Keep kicking it!

I thought you handle was familiar! Welcome gay webmaster brother.

Yes it sure is. These days I'm still freelancing putting in full time hours with a Silicon Valley outfit. I build and manage their web application.

Edit: Also, fuck soccer. Now you know it's me for real.

I still miss the good old Drew Myers and car loan asshole days too. And CEO Sam. And pewep.

Yeah you got me there, my bad. I don't know why, when I think of your name you are The Hobbit.

Hey guys,

So basically after I was successfully able to rank my other site in a low comp niche, I thought lets go bigger. So I started a site in a broad niche targeting easy keywords at first.

This website with just two links came to second page but has been stuck there ever since.

So far I have 3 diggity links, branded web 2.0s and niche 2.0s(powered with cheap PBNs) and around 5 my own PBN links.

So far I have done what I had done earlier for my other site.

The reason why I think it is in Sandbox
Two articles which when published should have jumped to first page are nowhere to be seen for that keyword. How do I know they can jump to first page? Cause every time I hit fetch as google they show up on first page and then disappear.

Apart from this the fact that my keywords refuse to bulge every time I send a tested link towards to it.

My plan
I have bought 1 PBN domain for my niche for 200$, I bought generic but powerful domain for $150. Both from auctions.
I have bought five niche related posts from a reputed seller on BHW.
Press release and social signals from PBNbutler.
30 Medium level from a tested PBN seller on BHW.

Timeline for the plan! (The site is 4 months old)
1. Press release goes out targeting homepage/brand keyword. (17th or 18th)
2. Social signals start, homepage.(20th)
3. 5 niche related links roll out one a day. Homepage/brand keyword (21st).
4. 30 links start rolling out 2 a day. Divided in 2 sub niche. Targeting category pages and supporting pages. (24th)
5. More social signals.
6. Use auction bought domains and link to money pages (EMD).

What do you think?
Am I going too overboard? The quality content is there and I am not hitting any of the bought links to my money pages which I think should be fine.

The goal is to build out overall authority and pass relevant juice via homepage or category or supporting pages.

Let me know what you guys think.

Hi all, found out about this forum through Charles floate's FB group ... The proper pbn group.

Been following internet marketing for about 10 years now on and off, started off in SEO CHAT, when it was good, managed to rank my business site locally (construction services) been busy running that for the last 10 years.
last year I had a year off to try and set up a startup, although not had much success with it yet but it's ignited the internet marketing bug in me.
Looking to try a few things out this year to see if I can make a living with internet marketing, although I'm not looking to work for clients as I want to do my own things such as affiliate marketing and lead generation....

If you want to know anything else just ask,
Cheers.
